Togden
Shakya Shri:
No
Difference Between Physical or
Nonphysical
Master
«If
you have devotion and faith toward the master, there is not even a
hair tip’s difference if the master is alive or not. Understand
that whenever you make a request to a master, you will always
spontaneously receive his blessing.»
Togden Shakya Shri: The Life and Liberation of a Tibetan Yogin
Kim's Comment: I have spoken with numerous buddhists, both tantrics and non-tantrics, and I have not met but a handful who have an inner confidence and experience that masters and buddhas are always available to us through prayers and blessings. All buddhists chant prayers in one from or the other but literally out of thousands of practitioners I know only a handful know to receive what they pray for. If hearts of masters were breakable, I think the fact that buddhists don't connect with immense blessings the masters and buddhas shower on them on daily basis, would do that. This is one of the points we do differently in Open Heart and for this reason practices that are very common in all schools of buddhism, specifically vajrayana, reap fruit much faster than what is commonly seen.
